Becky & Adam’s Culleoka Wedding and Firehouse Reception ~ Knoxville Wedding Photographer

Weddings

August 4, 2011

Becky & Adam were married June 11 at Friendship Baptist Church in Culleoka, TN.  Never heard of it?  Neither had I!  It’s a cute little town not far from Columbia, TN.  Becky chose clover green and yellow as her wedding colors and they perfectly matched the warm, sunny summer day as well as Becky’s cheery personality.  She and her maids were all smiles as they got ready for the day.

Becky’s wedding vendors & advice are below!

Wedding and Bridesmaid Dresses:  David’s Bridal in Franklin, TN

“They were very easy to work with.  They had a great selection and allowed me to take it to a closer location for the alterations.”

Hair Dresser:  Sissy Paul, owner of Bella Salon in Columbia, TN

“She was referred by a friend of ours.”

Florist:   Lively Florist

“After talking to a few florists on a Saturday, we stopped by her shop in town.  She was actually closing for the day when we got there.  However, she made special arrangements to come back a little later in the day.  She showed us several examples of her work for weddings that were taking place at that time.  She was really friendly and really used the ‘family business’ motto in her work.”

Tux Rental:  Men’s Warehouse in Franklin, TN.

“We used the MW since they are aligned with David’s Bridal.  This allowed us to get matching colors and a discounted rental fee.”

Cake/Bakery:  Mrs. Ann Fogg

“She was a family friend from Fayetteville, TN.  She was open to our ideas for the two cakes at the wedding.  We sat down with her one afternoon and everything came together.  She pulled in the help of her granddaughter for the stadium cake.”

(**This is one of the best 3D Neyland Stadium cakes I have seen!  And it does not hurt that we are beating Alabama…**)First dance as man and wife and cake smashing.

Caterer:  Classic Caterering by Julie

We chose Julie to provide the BBQ and side dishes for the great deal she offered per person.  We saved additional money by having a couple of family members pick up the food and set it up.”

Favorite part of planning?  Becky said it was dress shopping.  She said she liked the third one she tried on but continued to try them on since it was fun.  Adam said helping his best man plan the weekend getaway to see the Cubs play in St. Louis for the weekend.  Least favorite part of planning – Becky said she loved every minute of it.  Adam said he didn’t like writing checks!

Most Memorable Part?  Becky said it was her dad walking her down for the first sight meeting.  Adam said the fun at the railroad tracks with the photos.

What would we change?  We would have made the reception a little longer with some dancing.  It seemed like the time of day didn’t allow people to stick around as long.

Where your wedding budget was best spent?  We both agreed the photographer was the best part of the budget.  We thought that we should use a good photographer to help us remember our day since people claim the day is a blur.  We think that you provided us with outstanding pictures and were soooo easy to work with. (Thanks!!)

Advice?  Becky said that you should pick shoes you are comfortable in, or at least have a comfortable pair on stand-by.  Don’t stress!  My motto for the week prior to and the day of the wedding was no matter what goes wrong, or what goes right, at the end of the day, we will be married regardless, and that’s all that matters.  Have fun.

Thanks for having us B & A!  Congrats to you both and many, many blessings!
