Cheekwood Botanical Gardens Engagement Photos
Nashville Engagement Session
Today I’ll be featuring Stephanie and Sumeeth’s Cheekwood Botanical Gardens engagement photo shoot. Ahhh Nashville. It still feels like home. I am so excited to be photographing their wedding next month! It will be my first Indian wedding and after 3 days of ceremonies and events, I may be very glad that they are both almost doctors in case I croak of exhaustion.
Vanderbilt Grad Students
Stephanie, an alumna of Duke University, met Sumeeth who hailed from Northwestern at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where they both are graduate students. The ceremony will be held at my favorite — Scarritt Bennett’s Wightman Chapel with a lavish reception following at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
I Believe in Nashville
With their Nashville theme in mind, we started their engagement photo session at Marathon Music Works’ iconic “I Believe in Nashville” sign (which is actually a door). There was a promise of rain on the horizon, so we quickly headed to Cheekwood Estate & Gardens for “Cheekwood In Bloom” to take advantage of the gorgeous splendor of 100,000+ bulbs of tulips, as well as dogwood trees, redbuds and many other blooms. If you have never visited Cheekwood, I highly recommend it. The art trails and gardens are stunning!
You’ll see more of this rainbow umbrella…
As the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down, Sumeeth pulled out his lucky rainbow umbrella–the same one he used when he proposed to Stephanie in the rain 3 years ago. It couldn’t have been a more perfect or more sentimental prop for this vibrant, color filled springtime garden engagement session.
Enjoy!
