He first laid eyes on her at a local fast food joint. By the time he could change clothes and get back to say hello, she was gone. By chance, she showed up at his church, but again, before he could get to her, she was gone…and again…and again. Hannah’s third visit to Arturo’s church was his chance!
“This was the very first time I had ever seen him. The way he was staring at me took my breath away. He walked up to me, shook my hand and said, “Dios le bendiga.” I just smiled nervously. I had no idea what that meant at the time. (It means, “God bless you.”) Then he walked away. After he walked away, I breathed a sign of relief and I remember muttering to myself, ‘What just happened?'” ~ Hannah
It took awhile for Hannah to fall in love, but Arturo knew from the first sight of her that they were meant to be together forever.
“Some people look at you, but they never see you. They may know you’re there but they never take the time to learn about you, to observe the way you react, or to discover what you like and don’t like. Arturo always pays attention to details. He can read my eyes like you read a book. He was the first person who really saw me.” ~Hannah
Hannah & Arturo were married on the most beautiful fall day in Dayton, TN. Since the leaves had started to change, we headed to Fall Creek Falls after the reception for bridal party photos and they were fearless! They scaled rocks and bridges in their formal wear without a second thought!
Hannah shared her planning details to help other brides. Enjoy!

Your favorite and least favorite part of planning?
“My favorite part of planning was being able to paint all of the decorations. Several of the decorations, like the picture framed quotes, I bought at the thrift store for a couple of bucks, and then repainted. My least favorite part was coordinating so many people’s schedules for things like the wedding rehearsal.”
Most memorable moment of your wedding day?
“The most memorable part of the wedding day was when Arturo and I got to have our last dance together to “Save the Last Dance for Me” by Michael Buble. I absolutely love dancing and Arturo does too—Latin style. This dance was when we got to just let loose and have fun.”
What you would change, if anything?
“I had several people who helped with the wedding who tend to be procrastinators. I would have made sure things got done a little earlier so that there would have been less stress on the day of the wedding.?
Where your budget was best spent?
“On photography. Most of Arturo’s family is still in Mexico and many of my elderly family members were not able to come to the wedding. I’m thankful I have so many beautiful pictures to share with them.”
Any advice for future brides?
“Trust in the Lord. Circumstances change, plans fall through, people may let you down, money comes and goes, but the Lord will never fail you. And if you and your future husband both trust in the Lord always, though there will be ups and downs, I truly believe the Lord will see that your marriage does not fail either. Other than that, just enjoy your wedding day!”
Thanks, Hannah!
