Hot Air Balloon Wedding at Hunter Valley Farm

-Ryan + Renee-

Renee & Ryan said, “I do,” on April 12th with a beautifully themed hot air balloon wedding at Hunter Valley Farm in Knoxville.

Hot Air Balloon Proposal

Ryan popped the question with a romantic hot air balloon ride over Las Vegas.  With that sweet memory in mind, the reception pavilion was decorated in a hot air balloon theme including centerpieces and personalized glasses as guest favors.  Even the cake pops looked like balloons!

Spring Color Scheme

A green, yellow and gray color scheme was perfect for their spring wedding. Bridesmaids carried bouquets of happy yellow daisies and wore spring green tea-length dresses. The same greens were throughout the reception pavilion in the napkin linens, china, and balloons.

What was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

“The first look and I recommend doing this, it helps with nerves and gives you a special moment. Ryan and I almost kissed but stopped ourselves and did a high five ;)”

What was your favorite and least favorite parts of planning your wedding?

“My favorite was spending time with family. I wish the reception latest longer. Also the Chinese lanterns were a nice surprise. And in my case, I enjoyed looking for the plates we used. I liked looking at all the pretty plates and finding great deals on them. We found them at yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores. Least favorite planning part was the guest list. We have large families and a large group of friends. We had to make every difficult decisions on who we couldn’t invite… We just wanted everyone we know there!”

Where was your budget best spent?

“The caterer and photography.  These were 2 important parts to us and we feel we got high quality at a lower cost and are so very pleased with both. Also my sister created the invitations and we bought quality paper and had the image sent to Image Matters to have them print and cut the paper. We saved a ton of money and they looked great.”

Any advice for future brides?

“Don’t stress. Ryan and I allowed enough time to plan our wedding and I enjoyed doing every bit of it. I took my time and did what I wanted and it turned out just as we planned. I just wished I had more hours in the day for the wedding day!”
