Lisa and Chris’ Knoxville wedding at the Sunsphere & reception at the Southern Depot was one for the books!
The couple live in D.C. but wanted to submerse their family and friends in Knoxville’s uniqueness, so they chose the iconic Sunsphere for their wedding venue, followed by a spirited reception at The Southern Depot.
Jimmy Choo’s in World’s Fair Park
Lisa’s glittery Jimmy Choo heels and wedding dress could not have been more “her,” — chic, sassy and fun. We started pre-wedding photos at the Crowne Plaza Hotel where her beauty entourage from D.C. took over the Summit Suite and trolley’d (yes, that’s a word I just made up) over to the World’s Fair Park for the first look and wedding party photos before riding up to the Sunsphere for the ceremony.
DJ Sterl the Pearl Rules the Beats
When I say the reception was spirited, well, the dancing photos can speak for themselves! Lisa warned me that the mix of her wild friends, Chris’s rugby buddies, along with the irresistible beats from DJ Sterl the Pearl Henton, would have the room pumping till the wee hours. Their crowd did not disappoint! Even at 38 weeks pregnant, I was gettin’ low. To the windoooooow, to the wall! I’m sure the only thing more funny than me trying to get back up was watching all the guys sing, “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling,” Top Gun-style to Lisa.
A few of my favorite touches were the guest seating chart, which was a huge DC Metro map, and the cute custom napkins that read, “I do. That’s what she said.” Ha! Oh and let’s not forget the one-of-a-kind hand painted cake from Magpies.
It was a beautiful day with an awesome group of people. Huge thanks to Dani Rose Photo and Shayna Mitchell for helping this very pregnant lady capture the day.
