Gosh, I didn’t realize how much I loved vintage cars! The black convertible Continental that Laurie & Jeff had as their getaway car was just the coolest. And when your clients want to galavant around downtown Nashville in it for photos after their wedding, you say, “Yes, yes yes!”
Laurie filled me in on all the details of her Catholic wedding in Nashville:
“Kyle at Escape Day Spa did an unbelievable job with my up-do. Morgan at Escape Day Spa did my makeup. I was so happy that she made me look like me!”
“I purchased my Rivini gown as a sample at Something Old, Something New. The store closed, but I believe the owner is still selling gowns through tradesy.com. Although my alterations were four times more expensive than my gown (got it dirt cheap – going out of business sale), Karen Hendrix of Karen Hendrix Couture was worth it. She made my dress look like it was made for me. She was really great.”
“Jim Knestrick of Knestrick by Design. Kaitlin Grubbs was very helpful with the planning & Jim did an awesome job. I wanted to skimp on the flowers because they were so expensive, and after all, they do die. I wasn’t going to have alter flowers because they were so expensive. My dad ended up surprising me & ordering gorgeous alter flower arrangements. I was touched by that, and I’m so glad he did it. They looked beautiful!”
“The bridesmaids gowns came from Ann Taylor.com. I didn’t realize that navy was the big color of the season until I saw several of my friends also wearing navy to the wedding. Cute!”
“We used Street Tuxedo. Rachael was great to work with, and she took care of everything.”
Venue: “Christ the King Church & parish hall. I loved having everything in the same location. All the other venues charged about $3,000 before rentals, and that wasn’t going to work for my budget wedding.”
“If I wanted to keep this wedding under $20K, there was no way I could hand over 10% of my budget to a planner. So I had help from my sister Emily, and she was free! Honestly, I don’t think I would have survived the wedding planning craziness without her. I did use Denise Quin-Gomes as my day of coordinator. She was a life saver throughout the whole planning process. She gave me some great vendor referrals. She was awesome, and I was so thankful to have her help.”
Caterer: “Two Fat Men Catering – Karen Freeze did an awesome job. She called me her organized bride”
“The Flour Shop in Brentwood. Iris did great. My cake was almost $200 cheaper than the 4 other estimates, and we got quite a few compliments on the tasty cake. I love a good deal!”
Thanks, Laurie!
