Plantation at Pigeon Mountain Wedding in Lafayette, GA

Hannah & Chris grew up around each other since Hannah was on his sister’s competitive gymnastics team, but they didn’t realize it until years later when they met again as adults. After 5 years of dating and a scary open heart surgery for Chris, he proposed to Hannah at her favorite place – Disney World.

I was super excited to shoot their winter wedding at The Plantation at Pigeon Mountain – a new venue for me. It is a gorgeous property with rolling hills, white fences, and a stunning old plantation home as the ceremony backdrop.

Lots of places to shoot, right? Well, as the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. If given the choice, I think most photographers would agree that we would take extreme heat, freezing cold, or even a blizzard over rain. It rained and it rained and it rained some more. We literally did not have one 5 minute break in the downpour for over 24 hours!

Cue ALL the plan B’s. Chris and Hannah’s ceremony was moved to the covered back porch and their reception was moved into a nearby tent. Through all the changes, Hannah had the best attitude. She was marrying the love of her life and nothing else mattered. Cue the tears…
