Sacred Heart Cathedral Wedding & Sunsphere Reception

wedding at Sacred Heart Cathedral and Sunsphere

Today, I am excited to show off Sarah and Matt’s Sacred Heart Cathedral wedding and Sunsphere reception.

Blame it on Bonnaroo

You can’t beat a love story that began at a music festival. As an avid music lover and self proclaimed concert freak, I love that Sarah and Matt met at Bonnaroo. After 4 years of dating, Matt proposed to Sarah after work one day with a dozen red roses and a gorgeous diamond ring.

Wedding ceremony at The Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

The couple knew that Sacred Heart Cathedral was where they wanted to be married and found an available date even before the proposal! The cathedral’s sanctuary is stunning and provided the perfect formal backdrop for their November wedding Mass.

Reception at the iconic Sunsphere

After the ceremony and family portraits, we took a few minutes for bride and groom photos alone at World’s Fair Park with the Sunsphere in the background. I say “a few minutes,” because it was so incredibly windy that day, that we were afraid we would lose Sarah’s veil (and my lights) forever! Wind does make for some killer flying veil pics though…  Sarah and Matt were welcomed into the 6th floor reception of the Sunsphere by guests lining the dance floor area with orange and white streamer shakers and good ole Rocky Top. Best entrance song ever!

Karaoke Bride

We photographers love unscripted surprises, so my favorite part of the night was capturing Sarah singing karaoke to her guests and really getting into it! She will forever be my “Karaoke Bride.”

I had a lovely time celebrating with you guys! Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.

Congrats, Mr. & Mrs. Myers!

  1. […] The best advice I can give is budget for a wedding planning. The advice I got the most was don’t let anything that happens the day of let you lose sight of all the other wonderful things going on that day. In the end, it’s about you, your husband, and the commitment you’re making as you start a new adventure! Thanks, Caitie!! ****** View More Traditional Weddings: Sarah + Matt […]
