St. John’s Lutheran Church Wedding in Knoxville
Shelbi + Dominic’s Wedding
Pride of the Southland Band
When 2 alumni of UT’s Pride of the Southland Marching Band get married, you’re just gonna hear Rocky Top more than once at their reception!
Shelbi, a majorette, & Dominic, a trumpet player, met at band camp during Shelbi’s freshman year and have been inseparable ever since. Their wedding day was filled with perfect weather, laughter, and a more than a few tears (mostly by me when I got bit by her dog first thing that morning. A tetanus shot and a week of antibiotics later, I’m good to go).
St. John’s Lutheran Ceremony & Southern Depot Reception
The ceremony was held at St. John’s Lutheran and it is an absolutely gorgeous church. Big shout out to Clarke, church man extraordinaire for being awesome! Shelbi & Dominic chose The Southern Depot for their reception venue–also fabulous. It was my first time shooting there and I was so excited about getting photos with the train cars, but unfortunately by the time we arrived there were cars parked in front of all of them (BOO!) so we settled for the back end of the little red caboose!
Rocky Top!
There were so many highlights at this wedding, but one great moment was when Dominic and a group of his fellow trumpeters played Rocky Top for their reception guests as everyone sang along. Another, Shelbi had her grandparent’s song played so they could have their very own first dance all to themselves.
This will be a long blog with lots of images since it was not only a fantastic wedding, but this family is near and dear to my heart. Here we go!
