Twin Cedar Farm Wedding In Rockford, TN

Gamers Fall in Love

Who knew you could find the man of your dreams by playing a video game?  Kalie and Jeremy met playing World of Warcraft while living over 2, 000 miles apart.  After many hours of phone calls and Skype sessions, their long distance love brought Kalie from Oregon to Tennessee. Here is their love story and wedding day at Twin Cedar Farm in Rockford, TN.

How about the engagement?

“We got engaged on Feb. 15th, 2012. I was angry with him that day because I thought for sure he was going to propose the day before. When I got home, there were purple rose petals leading downstairs. I walked down and found a thousand more rose petals and tons of lit candles. He got down on one knee and said, ‘I’ve been looking for the perfect place, but realized there is only the perfect girl. Will you marry me?’  Needless to say I was in tears when I said yes!” ~Kalie

Awww!  Throw in a little Princess Bride “Mawwiage” sign, tons of purple flowers, some burlap accents, custom Converse “Husband” and “Wife” Chuck Taylors, and one killer rainbow right after the ceremony and you’ve got yourself an awesome wedding.  Kalie filled me in with all of her vendor info to share with you!

“My gown was purchased at The Bridal Gallery in Maryville. It was on sale for over half off!

My bridesmaids’ dresses were from David’s Bridal. It was easier to have them bought from a chain store because they all live in different places.”

“My makeup artist was Rachel Stephens who works in Mary Kay. She also did a trial for me about two weeks before the wedding.”

“My hairdresser was Jessi Hair who works at Bebe Salon in Maryville. She did a hair trial for me two weeks before the wedding to make sure it would look the way I wanted.”

“Our florist was Lisa Foster Floral Designs. I don’t know very much about flowers, but was able to describe what I wanted done and they got it exactly right. They also made me a “mock up” of my table arrangement about a month before the wedding so I could get some ideas of what I was working with.”

The guys rented their tuxes from Meridian Formal Wear. The tuxes we picked looked exactly like the ones we had wanted at Men’s Wearhouse but were about half the price!

“The ceremony and reception were located at Twin Cedar Farms. They were the most reasonably priced for the fantastic views, and helped work with us to make sure the day went exactly as we wanted it. The owner, Brian was always very helpful and didn’t mind us coming to check out the location a couple times before the wedding to get ideas of where I wanted things placed.”

“Carrie Craig was our wedding coordinator. She met with us multiple times before the wedding to make sure we got things just the way we wanted! “

“Caterers were Mike & Janet Godfrey, (they cater Sunday mornings at Faith Promise Church), and they had two separate taste testings with us to help us figure out what we wanted to serve.”

“Both of our cakes were from SugarBuzz. We did a cake taste testing there before the wedding and they provided many different flavors to choose from so we weren’t stuck with plain old vanilla. It made me extremely happy because I was a bride that stubbornly wanted chocolate!”

“The things I love most about Jeremy are his love for God, his sense of humor, his love for dogs, and his 6’5 height because I’m super short and can’t reach anything.”

Favorite part of planning?

“Getting to pick things that made my wedding different from others I had been to. I wanted my wedding to stand out and be fun, not something everyone was dreading to come to. My least favorite part was arguing with my family about things they wanted and I didn’t.”

Most memorable moment?

“Directly after the ceremony when my new husband and I were riding in the limo. It was amazing to finally be married, and we both loved the short alone time to reflect on the ceremony.”  Limo rental, Sweetheart Limousine

What would you change, if anything?

“There were definitely some pictures that I would have liked to get that we forgot about until it was too late.”

Where was your budget best spent?

“Our budget was best spent on the photographs. The memory of me shoving cake into my husbands face will never die. 🙂 “

 Advice for future brides?

“Make sure you take time to plan each aspect of your wedding. I got so caught up in the decorations that I let other things fall through. I would have liked to have had the timeline a little better planned out.”
