“Is that your natural hair color?”
Typically that question would be met with a sour face from a female, but it actually brought these two together forever. After a proposal at Folly Beach, SC, Whitney and Brandon started planning their crafty wedding at Chateau Selah in Blountville, TN. It was a sweltering day with temperatures around 100 degrees, but the view and the home is breathtaking–worth every drop of sweat!
Whitney’s addiction to all things Pinterest was evident in the decor. Burlap, fabric flowers, firefly jars, glowsticks…even a lemonade stand custom built by her dad to keep guests cool as they arrived.

Your favorite and least favorite part of planning?
“Well what I originally thought was going to be my favorite thing, actually turned into the worst in all this wedding planning madness! PINTEREST! Let’s just say I was addicted at first and wanted to try and make every single pin on my wedding board come true. Needless to say, creating all of the details continued for several months leading up to the night before the wedding!”
“My favorite part of planning the wedding was getting to spend the extra time with my mom, sisters, and friends. They played a huge part in helping me create a beautiful wedding and I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Brandon: “Dancing all night long! We had a blast with everyone on the dance floor and it is definitely where we spent the majority of the night!”
Whitney: “Watching Brandon’s face as I walked down the aisle while knowing that I was about to become his wife.”
What you would change, if anything?
“I wouldn’t change a thing! Our ceremony and reception took place outdoors and I know it was extremely hot but God is good and He was in control. With the month of July breaking a record for the most rain in TN ever, I will take 100 degree weather any day!”
Where was your budget was best spent?
“My DRESS and the venue!”
Any advice for future brides?
“If I could offer any advice at all it would be to take in every single moment that you can on your wedding day. It is your fairytale and it will go by in the blink of an eye. So on your big day, the one you have been dreaming of since you were a little girl playing Cinderella… stop, breathe, and be the princess. Don’t worry about centerpieces or linens or the color of the flowers. If something doesn’t go as planned, IT’S OK and at the end of the day you will still become Mr. & Mrs. And in the end, that’s all that matters.”
Whitney would like to add:
“Our wonderful family and friends played a huge role in making my wedding day come together and I wish that I could name them all but there are honestly too many to mention. They gave blood, sweat, and tears that day in not to mention the 100 degree weather to make my wedding day beautiful and I could never repay them for all their hard work. So…to all of our family and friends who helped make our wedding day more than we ever imagined, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are truly blessed!”
Thanks, Whitney & Brandon!!
