Winter Wedding at Cactus Creek Barn in Dickson, TN

CACTUS CREEK BARN WEDDING

This was my first wedding at this venue. It’s right outside of Nashville in Dickson, giving the venue a great central Tennessee location. There is a beautiful little creek for ceremonies as well as a huge barn for receptions and covered pavilions. The rustic flair provided the perfect ambiance for Abby and Troy’s winter wedding at Cactus Creek Barn.

NASHVILLE STARS ALIGNED

When a diehard Seahawks fan falls in love with a diehard Cowboys fan, you can bet there is some tension a few Sundays every year. This Sunday in particular, though, was all love and smiles. Throughout the years, their paths tried over and over to cross. Troy, from Washington, and Abby, from Virginia, both lived in Chicago at the same time. Abby’s plans to move to Seattle fell through at the same time Troy shipped out from there with the Navy. Finally, fate put them both in Nashville – the right place at the right time.

RUSTIC CHIC

The creekside ceremony at Cactus Creek Barn was chilly but beautiful with a bright blue sky in the background. Abby and Troy chose a palette of deep burgundy, wine, and navy with lots of gold and natural, rustic accents. I never thought of deer antlers as table decor, but they looked so cool! Troy and his groomsmen sported Seahawks socks inside his boots while Abby and her bridesmen wore Cowboys socks, but she sweetly conceded with a Seahawks garter.

CHEF BRIDE

Abby and Troy’s 5 month old son, Bowen stole the spotlight as the ring bearer in his adorable tiny cowboy boots. As if she didn’t have enough to do with a wedding to plan and a new baby, Abby, a chef, also made her wedding cake. Superwoman, much?
