Amira + Tai ~ A Match Made in eHarmony Heaven ~ Formal wedding in Knoxville at St. James Episcopal Church & Downtown Marriott

Weddings

How do 2 hard working professionals in their late 30’s find love when one is in Jersey and the other in New York City?

“We joke about how if it had not been for eHarmony our paths would have never crossed…Can you believe it? It actually works! I remember after our first date he sent me a text message saying, ‘You left me wanting more.’ Nobody had ever said that to me before. I said, ‘Me too, when are we getting together again!?'” ~Amira

Amira and Tai met, dated, were engaged and married in 13 months. Tai proposed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, on the steps where the famous scene from “Rocky” was filmed. When they were announced at the reception at downtown Knoxville Marriott, their awesome DJ, Jim Ogle of Ogle Entertainment, played the Rocky theme while Tai threw his fists in the air Sly Stallone-style!

Since we are the same age I wondered, how does it feel to be a first time bride at 40?

We both lived very full single lives as he is 39 and I am 40. Now it’s such an exciting season to begin a new season of life with each other. Both of us desire to lead and serve others well.”

Well said, Amira. Mazel tov!

And as always, a few words from our bride, Amira:

Your favorite and least favorite part of planning?

“Best part was my mom.  Helen Harb made this whole thing happen.  She gave me the opportunity to choose between perfection and excellence.  Platinum and Gold.  It was the best day of my life because of her leadership, style, event planning skills, and her generosity!”

The most memorable moment of your wedding day?

“When my father handed me to my grandfather and he danced with me.”

What you would change, if anything?

“Wish I had more time with all of our friends and family who joined us!”

How was your budget best spent?

“Marriott did us right on every level, and Kelsey was amazing to work with.”

 Any advice for future brides?

“If you are able, work closely with your mother or any other special woman in your life.  It will be the most precious moment, and you just want to be able to share those details with someone else.”

Thanks, Amira! And huge thanks to my 2nd shooter, Shayna Mitchell.
