Caitie and Jon’s Knoxville Wedding

at Graystone Presbyterian and The Foundry Reception

May weddings are some of my favorite. And maybe that’s because I was married in May, or it could be that typically, it’s finally getting warm here in east Tennessee. Either way, Caitie and Jon’s Knoxville wedding at Graystone Presbyterian Church and The Foundry was a lovely one.

Match.com Wins Again!

Caitie and Jon met on Match.com where so many of my couples are finding luck meeting their perfect partner. Caitie says that she and Jon are a great team.

“We share so many of the same interests and at the core of who we are, we value all the same things. Jon is everything 1 Corinthians 13 says love should be. When you marry someone like that, it’s easy to feel loved and it’s easy to love. And while our story isn’t a wild, crazy, riotous one, it’s ours.” -Caitie

Sunsphere Proposal

While out on a date, the two went for a walk at World’s Fair Park. Jon distracted Caitie by asking her how tall she thought the Sunsphere was. As she pondered, staring up at our big gold ball in the sky, Jon dropped to one knee holding a gold sphere of his own. This one just had a diamond attached!

“All he could get out was, ‘Amy Caitlyn, will you marry me?’ He said he had a speech planned, but the words couldn’t come out. I said yes and completely freaked out. The man of my dreams had the ring of my dreams in a tiny red box.” -Caitie

The Big Day

Caitie and Jon’s wedding day was full of sunshine both literally and figuratively! Caitie had 3 first looks: one with her father, another with her bridesmaids, and finally with Jon. They were all so touching in their own way. After their traditional church ceremony and family group photos, I had a few minutes with them alone to capture some really cool church photos before we headed to The Foundry for the reception.

Overall, it was a perfect day to promise forever. Congrats, Mr. & Mrs. Horton!

Advice from the Bride:

I loved all of it! When you’ve had your dream wedding planned in your head for most of your life, as it all starts becoming a reality, the most fun parts overshadow the least fun parts! Plus, when you have a team like Margaret Claire’s on your side, there’s minimal stress!

Our last dance, by ourselves, before we headed off to our honeymoon. It was a chance for the two of us to soak in those last few moments of our day!

I would not change a single thing!

The best advice I can give is budget for a wedding planning. The advice I got the most was don’t let anything that happens the day of let you lose sight of all the other wonderful things going on that day. In the end, it’s about you, your husband, and the commitment you’re making as you start a new adventure!
Thanks, Caitie!!
