Kristen + Josh ~ A mountaintop wedding in the Smokies at Gatlinburg Mansion

Weddings

February 13, 2014

“It took me quite a while to finally pursue Kristen, but getting to be with a woman like her is well worth the wait. I am so blessed to have her in my life, and I am very excited to marry her and spend our life together as a billboard of the relationship between Christ and His Church.” ~ Josh

I had to start out with that quote from sweet Josh.  I’m happy I had the opportunity to witness and photograph this sweet couple.  Their first look brought me to tears –and I do this every weekend!  The way Josh adores Kristen is the way every woman wants to be loved!

Kristen and Josh live in Kentucky but have family and friends all over the country.  So they decided on a centrally located venue, Gatlinburg Mansion, for their intimate mountaintop wedding weekend with 30 guests.

“We’re so glad we got to spend an entire weekend of quality time with the people closest to us, as opposed to spending a few short moments with a large group of people.” ~Kristen

A few words from our bride, Kristen:

Favorite & least favorite part of planning?

“Finding the Gatlinburg Mansion (and then going to look at it) was probably the best part. It was so perfect! My least favorite part was probably figuring out all the details, like table decorations.”

Most memorable part of the day?

“Exchaning our vows was probably the most memorable…with one of the groomsmen’s performances of “Don’t Stop Believin” a close second.”

What would you change?

“Nothing. :)”

Where was your budget best spent?

“The Gatlinburg Mansion! We just could not have picked a better location, and it really made the weekend what it was. We had close family and friends stay with us for two nights, which turned the wedding into a weekend-long event.”

Advice for future brides?

“Opt for a wedding weekend! Don’t feel like you have to invite everyone. We’re so glad we got to spend an entire weekend of quality time with the people closest to us, as opposed to spending a few short moments with a large group of people.”

Thanks, Kristen!
