Micro Weddings at Ijams Nature Center
Micro weddings, tiny weddings, COVID weddings…call them whatever you like but they’re all the rage. Since traditional wedding venues are now required to only allow 50% capacity or even less in some cases, engaged couples are opting to forego their original plans and have only immediate family and close friends at the ceremony. Scaling down does not mean they have to head to the local courthouse, however. Many local venues are appealing to engaged couples with special small packages so you can still have your wedding cake and eat it too. This week, I will be telling you guys about some fantastic Knoxville venues offering micro wedding options. Let’s get back to nature with micro weddings at Ijams Nature Center.
Eco-friendly, Sustainable Weddings
If the great outdoors is more your vibe, check out the eco-friendly micro weddings and elopements at Ijams Nature Center. Ijams is a 315 acre wildlife sanctuary and green space only 5 minutes from downtown Knoxville. All venues at Ijams are maintained with sustainable practices and careful attention to not disrupt the diverse natural environment. Ijams is also very dog friendly, so bring your furry ring bearer along!
So many ceremony sites!
There are literally hundreds of gorgeous locations for just the 2 of you or a small gathering. Meads Quarry, the Homesite & Pavilion, or a stop along your favorite hiking trail are just a few examples. The Homesite is one of my favorite areas to photograph. Not only did my little sister get married here, but there are a zillion gorgeous little spots in about a 100 yard radius.
Simple elopements start at $80 for 2 hours. The fine folks at Ijams can help you with any extras you may want. Imagine having a ceremony overlooking the lake & rock quarry then having a little sweetheart table set up under the pavilion with your first meal as husband and wife. Sweetness!
