Sometimes you gotta wait it out. And that’s just what we did as the rain fell at Cedarwood for Morgan and Michael’s big day. Luckily, M+M had decided long ago to have a “first sight” meeting before the ceremony so we could do many of the photos beforehand. Because soon after we wrapped the wedding party photos, the rain came…and came…and came! I think the ceremony ended up starting about an hour and a half later than planned, but the Cedarwood staff just did a switcheroo and had the cocktail hour before the ceremony while we all waited for the storm to pass. It was great!
I love to see a couple roll with it and M+M did just that. And when the sun returned, they were hubby and wifey. =0)
HUGE thanks to planners Christa Harris and Linda Wright at Cedarwood!

Yeah, so I like to play with light and exposure.
“To the windooooooow, to the WALL!” (I don’t remember if that was the actual song, but it looks like it works!)
- Here is some more vendor info and Morgan’s suggestions and advice for future brides:
We used Gray Line Nashville for transportation from the hotel to Cedarwood for our guests staying in the main hotel. They were perfectly professional and most importantly, ON TIME.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Opryland/Airport. They were really great with helping us after our initial wedding hotel got flooded!
Our ceremony music was played by Rob Higginbotham. He learned an acoustic version of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer” for our bridesmaids/groomsmen processional!
Your favorite and least favorite part of planning:
FAVORITE: We loved working with the professionals that we hired! We know that the folks at Cedarwood live, eat, and breathe weddings every weekend. It’s what makes them PROS and so good at what they do. In three and a half hours, we essentially planned the whole shindig from cake napkins to menu selections to decor to invitations with NO drama. They paid attention to so many details that we would have never been able to capture while stressing to plan a wedding on my own states away. Even better, they made our wedding special for us, so there was NO cookie cutter feel!
Least Favorite: That the whole party goes by SO quickly once it’s here!
The most memorable moment of your wedding day:
This Kiss After the Vows – Perfect!
What you would change, if anything:
We would have REMEMBERED the “guest book” which was a large engagement photo of us that we had framed and matted for our guests to sign. No we don’t have a true record of everyone who attended, sad face.
Where your budget was best spent:
Photography and Flowers!
Any advice for future brides:
Don’t be afraid to say “no” to all of the gracious offers of help/advice/assistance in your planning adventures if you don’t need them. It’s not an indication that you’re unappreciative.
Thanks guys! It’s been a pleasure getting to know you both. I hope the Dominican Republic was wonderfully restful and D.C. treats you both well! xoxo
