The Stables at Strawberry Creek Wedding
The Stables at Strawberry Creek is a stunning, rustic wedding and event venue situated on 55 rolling acres in east Knoxville, TN. This venue offers overnight accommodations in a historic 240 year-old cabin overlooking a huge pond for ceremonies. Receptions are held on a beautiful hill in the Stables, just steps away. Autumn is such a picturesque time for a Stables at Strawberry Creek wedding! Finally, the fall colors arrived in full splendor here in Knoxville – just in time for my last November wedding with this lovely couple.
Darts > Trivia
Cara and Jonathan worked together but never really met on the job. They were introduced through friends at a local restaurant and bar for Trivia. Cara could never beat Jonathan in trivia, while he could never beat her at Darts.
VA to TN Proposal
Last year, Jonathan planned to propose to Cara at a Christmas party in front of his family in Virginia, but Cara unknowingly volunteered at her church at the last moment in Knoxville, so Jonathan drove back from VA to TN that same day, arriving just before midnight. He proposed to her right in her living room. Awww!
Fateful Day
When Cara and I first talked about hiring me to photograph her wedding to Jonathan, I knew it was meant to be. Not only do I adore her personality but the wedding date was set for my Dad’s birthday. In addition, the venue is on the same road my Dad lives on and the property was once owned by someone very close to me. Fate? I think so.
Fall Colors at the Stables
Mother Nature gave us tons of colors to enjoy and the yellow & red leaves looked gorgeous with Cara’s color choices of plum, ivory and gray. Cara and her bridal party relaxed in the 240 year old cabin while the beauty team from Grow Knoxville worked their magic. It was chilly but guests were encouraged to cozy up with gray throws, a favor from the bride and groom. A hot chocolate and cider bar also kept guests warm as everyone danced into the night.
One of my favorite moments was trying to keep my camera steady and focused during the processional. Not only was I shivering, but Cara raced down the aisle like she couldn’t get to Jonathan fast enough!
Enjoy a peek at Cara + Jonathan’s best day ever at The Stables at Strawberry Creek.
