Summer wedding at Omni Homestead Resort Shooting Club in Hot Springs, VA
Virginia Mountain Wedding
#finallyafann was the hashtag and it was quite appropriate. After 10 years together, Samantha and Chris tied the knot atop a mountain for their wedding at Omni Homestead Resort Shooting Club. Samantha, a field ecologist, celebrated many special times at the Homestead over the years along with her family & friends. Christopher proposed to her there and the pair found it to be the perfect place to return for their nuptials.
Originally opened in 1766, the resort oozes southern charm and hospitality. When I arrived to begin photographing the day, a hotel staffer literally walked me to Samantha’s room and gave me a brief history of the magnificent resort along the way. Talk about service!
Omni Homestead Shooting Club
Guests were shuttled from the lobby to the Shooting Club where the ceremony took place overlooking a panoramic view of the Allegheny Mountains. Samantha and Christopher specifically chose the summer solstice for their wedding date to have as much daylight as possible. Thankfully mother nature was a good girl and gave us lovely weather as well as a photographer’s dream sunset.
Meaningful Details
My favorite details were the invitations, which featured a watercolor painting by the bride of the Homestead and surrounding mountains. Also the calligraphy which was so beautifully done by the groom’s grandmother, the bride’s exquisite, colorful bouquet and floral crown, and, of course, that dreamy sunset.
Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Fann! Thanks for letting me capture your day.
